HOSA is an architecture practice based in Bangalore, with roots going back to 2014, when the practice was established as Design Integratus. Over the years, our work and experience have shaped the way we understand architecture and the built environment.

Today, we have chosen to take the practice in a new direction, giving it a new identity with a clear purpose: HOSA | House of Sustainable Architecture.

This evolution is more than a new name. It represents the direction in which we want to take our practice and the way we want to approach architecture going forward.

Sustainability will be an integral consideration in our work, wherever the site, programme and circumstances allow, with the intention of making thoughtful and meaningful improvements to the way buildings respond to their environment.

Our approach begins with understanding the place, its climate and its context. The orientation of a building, movement of air, natural light, material choices, landscape, water, energy and the way people use and experience a space are considered as interconnected parts of the architectural response.

Where possible, these considerations become opportunities to create buildings that are more comfortable, efficient and responsive to their surroundings.

We believe some of the most effective sustainable solutions are also the simplest. Thoughtful planning, appropriate materials, climatic responsiveness and an understanding of how a building naturally performs can often achieve more than the addition of complex technologies or systems.

Every project is approached as an opportunity to develop a response that is specific to its site, its users and its aspirations. Rather than following a fixed architectural language, we allow the character of each project to emerge through observation, exploration and refinement.

The name HOSA | House of Sustainable Architecture expresses this new direction.

HOSA also means “new” in Kannada, reflecting our willingness to question established ways of designing and building, and to remain open to new possibilities.

While HOSA represents a new chapter for the practice, it builds upon more than a decade of architectural experience, projects and lessons gathered since 2014.

Our ambition is to create architecture that is contemporary without being disconnected from its context, sustainable where possible without being complicated, and beautiful without being wasteful.

At HOSA, we believe good architecture is not about following a formula. It is about understanding what is possible, making thoughtful choices, and creating buildings that work with their environment and enrich everyday life.
